Charlie and Jackie Coogan in The Kid c.1921
This iconic shot from the Kid , after Charlie saves the Kid/Jackie Coogan from child services and the workhouse,  is just so moving. It is among my favourite photos from Charlie’s films.

Charlie in City Lights c.1931
Though categorized as a silent, City Lights is really considered a sound crossover film. While still using intertitles for dialogue, the movie has a synchronized soundtrack,  sound effects and unintelligible noises that match some conversation visuals throughout.

Charlie holding up the tiniest impersonator :D I am not 100% sure, but I believe that is wee Jackie Coogan in the photo as well.
(There seems to be a debate over whether or not this is really Charlie! Many people say yes, many others say it is a very good impersonator (Charlie Rivel) ! I am leaning towards the later, as that isn’t Jackie Coogan)
